Q: Do you have employees, or do you subcontract most of your work?
A: We have ten employees and handle all of the carpentry and masonry work. We sub out the mechanical tasks, (HVAC,electrical, plumbing) as well as painting, tile and hardwood floors.
Q: How about design capabilities?
A: We work closely with several topnotch architects, engineers and draftsmen in the Burlington, North Carolina area. We would be glad to make a recommendation. We can help you design and plan interior and exterior finishes, or we can work with your architect or interior designer if you prefer. We are very adept at solving design problems in the field once work begins.
Q: What is “Cost Plus” construction?
A: Our clients are provided with the actual invoices from suppliers and subcontractors, as well as the labor sheets from our workers, and a mark-up is added (15 – 20%). You only pay for the actual “Cost” of the work “Plus” a percentage for our profit and overhead. There is no factor built-in to inflate costs to cover possible errors or delays. You only pay for the work that is actually done as it is taking place.
