Saltwater pools are not chlorine free pools. Essentially by installing the equipment to create a saltwater pool, you equip your swimming pool with a chlorine generating system. Chlorine generators, when functioning correctly, produce chlorine constantly (when the pump is running) with most units. This keeps a residual of chlorine in the swimming pool that prevents algae from growing.
Swimming in a saline pool is like taking a shower in soft water. Chlorine generators require an up-front investment, but will save you money over time. (The main disadvantage of saltwater pools is that they reduce the revenue generated by pool chemical sales.)
Fiberglass pools, vinyl pools and concrete pools all can be built or converted to saltwater pools. If you are looking for a chlorine free pool, please contact us. Clearwater Construction Group has chlorine free solutions available.
